Gaia Rising
In Greek mythology, Gaia is ancestral Mother of all life, and the personification of Earth. She was the second being to have emerged during the creation of the universe. Titans numbered among her many off-spring with Uranus (the sky). The Titans in turn fathered Cronus and Rhea whose children included Zeus, Hades and Poseidon.
This painting represents Hope. I would like to think that after the Doomsday Clock strikes 12, Gaia will rise again like a phoenix to bring back all living plants and animals. Will Gaia give humans a second chance?
The phoenix in the 2020 painting does not look powerful enough to heal the damage of pollution and natural disaster wrought by global warm and human greed.
In the 2022 painting, the phoenix is painted with its wings stretching out to envelope and heal the world. Green is symbolic of compassion and blue is symbolic of healing.

2020年の絵の鳳凰は、地球温暖化と人間の貪欲によって引き起こされた公害や自然災害による被害を癒すのに十分強力ではないようです。
2022年の絵では、世界を包み込み、癒すために翼を広げた鳳凰が描かれています。 緑は思いやりの象徴であり、青は癒しの象徴です。
