Iberian Lynx
38.0 x 45.5 cm. (14.9 x 17.9in.)

The Iberian lynx is a “rabbit specialist” with low ability to adapt its diet. Like other lynxes, it has tufted ears, long legs, short tail, and a ruff of fur resembling a beard. It is endangered due to habitat loss, vehicle strikes, poisoning, feral dogs, illegal poaching, outbreaks of feline leukemia, climate change and inability to adapt.

The bright star, Hershel 36, lights up the Lagoon Nebual (M8). Walls of dust hide and redden other young stars. Shearing winds, generated by the temperature difference between energy from young stars and the cool dust may be the cause of the funnels.
