Amur Leopard
38.0 x 45.5 cm. (14.9 x 17.9in.)

Also known as far eastern leopard and as Siberian leopard, the Amur Leopard, found only in the cold regions of Russian Far East and NE China, is the most critically endangered subspecies and one of the most endangered animals in the world. It no longer exists in the Korean Peninsula. Though it was estimated that only 19 to 26 individuals remained in 2007, the count has risen to 60 as of 2015. It is threatened by habitat loss, pest control, and poaching.

Intense radiation of young stars lights up the Running Chicken Nebula (IC 2944) and small dark molecular clouds full of cosmic dust.
