There
are 2 species of elephants: the African elephant and the Asian elephant.
The African elephant has larger ears, concave back, more wrinkled
skin, sloping abdomen, and two finger-like extols at the tip of the
trunk. The Asian elephant has smaller ears, convex or level back,
smoother skin, horizontal abdomen which occasionally sags in the middle,
one extension at the tip of the trunk, and dorsal bumps on its head.
It is listed as endangered due to habitat destruction and conflicts
with local people, as well as being hunted for its tusks.
The Bubble Nebula (NGC 7635) is formed by the containment of stellar
winds pushing out from its central star (DB+602522) by its neighboring
giant molecular cloud. |
