St. Lawrence Jewry

Situated in the former medieval Jewish ghetto, it was destroyed in the Great Fire of London (1666), rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren in 1687, extensively damaged in WWII, and restored to Wren's original design in 1957 by Cecile Brown.

St. Lawrence was in charge of giving help to the poor and the needy. He was slowly burned to death on an iron grill for showing the poor and sick as the treasure of the Church.
