St.
James, the Lessor
This
church was designed and built by Sir Christopher Wren.
James, son of Alphaeus, one the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, was called
James the Lessor to be distinguished from James, son of Zebedee, another
of the Twelve Apostles. He was beaten to death with a fuller’s
club in Lower Egypt for preaching the Gospel. |
