St. Dunstan-in-the-East

Built around 1100, destroyed by the Great Fire (1666), patched up in 1671. Sir Christopher Wren's Gothic tower survived the Blitz of 1941; his design was preserved when the City of London decided to convert the site into a public garden.

Dunstan, a gold and silversmith, worked to restore monastic life in England He also reformed the English Church.
