St. Clements Church

Destroyed by the Great Fire of London (1666), and rebuilt in 1687 according to Sir Christopher Wren's design. Roman London wharves used to operate in this area, hence the church is dedicated to St. Clements, disciple of St. Peter the Apostle, patron saint of sailors. He was tied to an anchor and thrown into the Black Sea for his belief.
